The Despair Faction is the official, band-operated fan club for AFI, in continuous operation since 2002. Your lifetime membership in The Despair Faction will cost $29.99 plus tax and shipping. This membership does not expire and you will not need to renew. From the welcome letter:
"The purpose of the Despair Faction is to give back to those who have demonstrated a true understanding of, and devotion to, AFI. This is for the fan-letter fans, the gift-package fans, the first-in-line fans, the front-of-the-stage fans, the eight-hour-drive fans, the cross-country-flight fans, the fan-since-I-was-a-kid fans, the fan-till-I-die fans..." The Membership Package This package (check it out!) contains a T-shirt, button, armband, sticker, patch, and poster. These are all DF-exclusive items, and none of them will ever be sold outside of the fanclub. The package will be renewed from time to time, with all-new designs from a different artist. When a new package comes out, current members will be able to buy it for a reduced price. Exclusive Video and Audio Expect the unexpected! We've had song premiers and exclusive streams, mp3s and video clips and we always have more in the works. Under the Rose Magazine The official AFI magazine, dedicated to the DF, is delivered electronically to DF members as soon as the issue goes to press, and will have exclusive access to extra content that didn't fit in the print edition. Special Events The DF has participated in meet-and-greet events with the band, received pre-sale ticket opportunities, received free tickets to shows, been invited to participate in AFI films, and have even leant their voices to AFI recordings. When possible, this tradition continues. The DF Message Board The DF hosts the Official AFI & DF Message Board here on despairfaction.com. Everyone can join, but DF members have many exclusive forums and features, from local Chapter forums, DF discussion, avatars, signatures, blogs, and more. Diehard Giveaways and Contests We have random giveaways of all types of cool stuff, no effort required, and we'll be having other types of contests on a regular basis. We've raffled off a plastic pumpkin from tour, a laminate backstage pass, setlists, and have plenty more to come! The Exclusive Store Everyone can click here to view the store, but only DF members can actually buy the items. This is special merchandise available only from here, and it is cheaper, too. Exclusive Photo Galleries Special photo galleries submitted by AFI friends and family from different times in the band's past and on into the future. We hand-pick these to be the very best shots. Current galleries feature professional work as well as friends' shots from tours! |
